Lux Art Institute is a local nonprofit art museum and education facility that needed a website revamp to accommodate its organizational changes and overall growth. The new site highlights its programs and its mission to exhibit and nurture art as well as the artistic process. The responsive design makes updates more efficient while creating a better user experience on mobile platforms. E-commerce is integrated with internal databases, enabling visitors to donate, purchase memberships, and sign up for classes. The visual incorporation of modular squares as “windows”, or “viewports”, pushes the Institute’s core concept to expose the creative process. Typographic hierarchy and the design of secondary tabs and drop-downs were meticulously crafted to bring content clarity to page wayfinding.
