What local entrepreneur Elexia de la Parra began in 2008 as a farmer’s market stand has grown into a thriving retail business with a 100k social media following. Artelexia (“Arte”, Spanish for “art”, + Elexia, her name) sells unique Mexican imports, hosts tours to Mexico, and curates creative cultural workshops and local community events.
I worked closely with Elexia to refresh the Artelexia brand, pump up her new storefront façades, and develop a series of mural campaigns. The brand refresh was inspired by vibrant, Mexican folk-art with a colorful, playful-contemporary twist.
The new brand and murals helped Artelexia gain huge traction on social media, gaining thousands of likes and features from popular accounts such as @visitcalifornia, @visitsandiego, and even Instagram’s very own @instagram account within a year after the final mural was completed.
